Zoe-perry

Perry is a Chicago native, birthed to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first television appearances were as Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed the role. She was not allowed to start acting by her parents until adulthood, as they feared the stress it would result in. Perry was shy in high-school and didn't act. The actress began her acting career in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends as she transferred from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, moved in New York in search of television roles. She landed small parts in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness brought her back to California for theater roles. She appeared on Broadway with her mother in The Other Place with her mother in the year 2013. Her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer prize-winning film Anna Christie with her in the year 2015. Perry was in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC drama The Family in 2016. Her father portrayed her in her role on the ABC show Scandal. She played the role of the younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off show of CBS's The Big Bang Theory was another younger portrayal of her mother. She got the part in an audition that was open despite having a connection to this character.
